Advantages A "Green" Renewable Resource The premium Brazilian hardwoods we use for our grill tables are protected and designated as a sustainable resource. The wood is harvested from managed forests under the guidance of the Brazilian Government.
Before any tree can be harvested it has to have a governmental clearance letter, and only one tree per acre can be harvested. The government also inspects nearby trees that may be dying so it can be substituted for the original tree.
Due to the hardness of the wood, no chemical treatments are needed. Arsenic and copper compounds are not used to preserve the wood during milling.
We believe it's important to be good stewards of the earth resources, and we're proud to offer a responsible choice in grill tables.
Beauty Our Brazilian hardwoods offer a variety of color and grain choices. Even a specific type of wood can have a range of light, medium and dark shades. We hand select each piece of wood to get a consistent shade for every grill table.
What really draws attention to our grill tables are the complex grain patterns in the wood, some have deep tight patterns and others have a swirl or "burled" look. The Brazilian Cherry has a very unique characteristic, because it darkens after exposure to sunlight. Some of our cherry grill tables almost look like white oak, and after a week in the sun they develop their true shade of cherry.
Durability
Other grill table woods will not last as long as Brazilian hardwoods–especially cypress, pine or treated lumber. Brazilian hardwoods have natural insect repelling characteristics, and they are harder and more dense than other hardwoods. In fact, our Brazilian woods are more than 2.5 times harder than oak or maple.
Maintenance Free No maintenance is required. You can use our grill table immediately and enjoy it for years. To prevent any softening of the wood color and create a patina on the wood surface, we recommend applying a hardwood oil periodically. See our Product Care sections for details.
Value
When you compare the advantages of Brazilian hardwood over other grill table woods, you can expect to have a grill table that will always be the centerpiece of your patio and last at least four times longer than other grill tables.
