Building a Better Grill Table
We're passionate about the Kamado-style of cooking, so we looked at the grill tables on the market, because we wanted more work area than the side shelves and quite honestly, we wanted a grill table that was as beautiful as it was resistant to the weather–any kind of weather.
 
A couple of grill tables that caught our eye were made of teak, but the vast majority of the grill tables on the market are "screwed and glued" models made of everything from cypress to treated lumber and galvanized steel hardware. Honestly, we thought most of them looked more like rolling work benches with a hole in them than grill tables.
 
If you can look beyond the lack of aesthetic beauty, they will look good for a couple of years, then turn rough and gray, but they will work.
 
We wanted something more.

We tested several prototypes outside with several types to wood, hardware and protective finishes to find the right combination. It was a frustrating process at times, because all the research in the world will not overcome the obstacles that Mother Nature can throw at you. But obstacles are there to prevent success, they just show you how bad you want something.
 
The outcome was a Kamado Grill Table that is thoughtfully designed, and handcrafted with the most weather-resistant materials available, and an aesthetic beauty that can be the centerpiece for any patio or deck.

An Unmatched Blend of Materials
Brazilian Wood
Brazilian hardwoods are the foundation of our grill tables. They are a "green" resource and are certified as a sustainable and renewable resource harvested from managed forests.
 
Beyond the exquisite look, they are extremely dense woods and unfinished, they have a product life of 85 to 100 years. We selected two types of this hardwood for their beauty and hardiness; Brazilian Walnut and Brazilian Cherry. Hardware
The ocean is the best testing ground if you want to look for metal parts that stand up to the elements of water, wind and corrosion. That's what we did, and that's why we use marine-grade stainless steel for our bolts, washers and screws.
 
Our locking casters use stainless steel housings and components with polyurethane wheels for years of beauty and functionality.
 
We use pressed steel for our brackets and hand coat them with a marine-grade varnish that meets the United States Military requirements for weather-resistance.

Finishing
We tested several finishes to find the right combination of protection, beauty and minimal care. We selected a specially formulated finishing oil with advanced UV light and mildew protection. It is eco-friendly and made from renewable resources. It penetrates the wood and brings out the complex grain patterns of the Brazilian hardwoods.
